Actions and Uses-
Avla (Emblica officinali): Rich in Vitamin C it acts as an anti-oxidant. Very useful in acid-peptic disease, it relieves peptic ulcers, improves digestion. It is considered as a foremost Rasayana drug importing long healthy life and weight gain. It is also useful in bronchitis and leucorrhoea.
Kaonch Beej (Mucuna purirens): It is nervine tonic. Improves brain functioning.
Gokhru (Tribulus terrestris): Cooling ; Diuretic , Used in gout, kidney diseases and gravel; Also used in painful micturition, calculus affection and crystalluria, It is tonic and aphrodisiac, Used in Impotence, Slow down aging process.
Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus): Widely accepted vitaliser. Removes general debility.
Khajoor (Phoenix sylvestris): it is cooling, diuretic, nutritive tonic and useful in general debilities.
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera): It is an adaptogen. Corrects stress and tension induced disorders like Anxiety neurosis. Useful in general debility and rheumatic disorders.
Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia): It reduces general weakness and is a hepatoprotective. Also useful in arthropathies.
Baheda (Terminalia belerica): It improves digestion.
Hirda (Terminalia chebula): Useful in chronic constipation and peptic ulcers. Improves digestion. It is a well known rasayana drug helpful in general debility.
Sounth (Zingiber officinale): Used to treat ulcers, motion sickness and indigestion. Useful in reducing body weight and maintaining sugar level in diabetes.
Kalimirch (Piper nigrum): It is one of the ingredients of Trikatu and act as carminative.
Pipli (Piper longum): Used for treatment of flatulent dyspepsia ; recurrent infection of throat and in chronic bronchial asthma.
Indications –
- Various respiratory problems like chronic bronchial asthma, upper respiratory tract infection rhinitis, cough, pnuemonia etc.
- Chronic digestion and gastrointestinal problems like dyspepsia, acidity, acid-peptic ulcers, nonspecific ulcers, habitual constipation, piles, with bleeding.
- General weakness due to malnutrition, followed by child birth, long term disease and heavy manual work.
- Stress and tension related nervous system problems like irritation, insomnia etc.
Dosage-
Adults: 2 teaspoonfuls two times a day.
Children: 1 teaspoonful two times a day.
